Salou, Spain: Where Sun, Sand, and Seaside Fun Await, but be aware of the boogey men.

02/09/2022

Salou was the perfect destination for our lads' holiday – a whirlwind of excitement, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. From the moment we arrived, the vibrant energy of the town set the tone for our adventure. Our days were filled with exhilarating activities, from exploring the bustling streets to soaking up the sun on the golden beaches.

The days were long and exhausting, but in the best way possible. We spent hours splashing in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, playing beach volleyball, and soaking up the sun's rays. When we needed a break from the heat, we retreated to beachside bars for ice-cold drinks and lively banter.

As night fell, Salou came alive with the pulsating beat of the clubs and bars. We embraced the nightlife scene wholeheartedly, dancing until the early hours of the morning and making memories that would last a lifetime. The atmosphere was electric, the music was pumping, and the drinks were flowing – it was the ultimate lads' night out.

But amidst the excitement, there were also moments of relaxation and tranquility. We found refuge in quiet corners of the town, where we could unwind and recharge for the next day's adventures. Whether lounging by the pool with a cold beer in hand or indulging in a leisurely siesta in the shade, Salou offered the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.

As our holiday came to an end, we left Salou with a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, knowing that we had experienced everything this vibrant town had to offer. From thrilling adventures to lazy days on the beach to unforgettable nights out on the town, Salou had captured our hearts and left us longing for more.

The Boogey Men

In Salou, there exists a group of individuals, whom I've come to dub as the "boogey men," who peddle illegal goods and counterfeit merchandise persistently throughout the town. Their presence is often unnerving, as they aggressively approach tourists with offers of knock-off designer goods, counterfeit electronics, and other illicit items. Despite efforts to avoid them, their persistence and sometimes intimidating tactics can leave a negative impression on visitors. Unfortunately, encountering these individuals can tarnish the otherwise vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of Salou, leading to a more cautious and guarded perception of the town.

log ride

My day at PortAventura in Salou was nothing short of brilliant. From the moment I stepped through the gates, I knew I was in for an adrenaline-fueled adventure. I opted for the fast track tickets, eager to make the most of my time and experience as many rides as possible.

The thrill of speeding through loops and twists on roller coasters left me breathless and exhilarated, while the immersive themed areas transported me to faraway lands filled with excitement and wonder. From the towering heights of Shambhala to the heart-pounding drops of Dragon Khan, each ride offered its own unique thrills and excitement.

Despite the scorching heat, the excitement of the day continued unabated. I cooled off with refreshing splashes on water rides and took breaks in shaded areas to recharge before diving back into the action.

As the day wore on, I couldn't help but notice the prices of food and drink, which were a bit shocking. While I expected them to be on the higher side, the steep costs were still a surprise. Nevertheless, I indulged in some delicious snacks and cold beverages, knowing that it was all part of the experience.

Despite the minor inconvenience of the pricey refreshments, my day at PortAventura was an unforgettable experience filled with thrills, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As the sun set on the horizon, I left the park with a heart full of joy and a smile on my face, already dreaming of my next visit.

time to club

Our night at FLASH BACK DISCOTHEQUE in Salou was an experience unlike any other. As we approached the club, I was taken aback by the €15 entry fee – a bit steep, but we were determined to make the most of our night out.

Initially, the atmosphere inside was surprisingly quiet, with only a few early birds scattered across the dance floor. However, as the clock struck midnight, the scene transformed entirely. Suddenly, the club came alive with pulsating music, swirling lights, and an infectious energy that swept through the crowd.

Despite being British lads in a Spanish club, we were welcomed with open arms by the locals. We found ourselves surrounded by friendly faces and eager dancers, and it wasn't long before we were fully immersed in the vibrant atmosphere. The music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, and the dance floor was packed with revelers from all walks of life.

As the night went on, I couldn't help but notice the admiring glances from the ladies around us. Now at the time of writing this I realised, they may not of been 'admiring' but instead judging Zack's dancing skills.

To be fair. They were questionable.

It was a thrilling feeling to be surrounded by such energy and excitement, and we danced the night away with newfound friends by our side.

Looking back on our night at FLASH BACK DISCOTHEQUE, I was struck by the unexpected twists and turns of the evening. What started as a quiet entrance soon escalated into a lively and unforgettable night of music, dancing, and camaraderie. Despite the initial shock of the entry fee, it was well worth it for the memories made and the unforgettable experiences shared with friends old and new.
